Close your eyes and transport yourself to a space where people are always smiling. Living in community. Surrounded by trees, birds, dogs, horses, cats, chickens. Gathering every day at sunset to appreciate mother earth in the water. Sometimes, at night, dancing around the fire. And before midnight everyone is in their beds, recharging energies, because they can’t wait to start their day again.
This is Pavones.
A lazy surf town in southern Costa Rica with a paradisiac wave for all skill levels. It’s the second longest left in the world when it’s pumping but most importantly it’s a clean, friendly wave that will take you on the ride of your life! When I went to Pavones I could only ride waves straight but once I got on that Pavones wave, I was riding left so long that I couldn’t believe it was me on that board.

In fact most of the people I talked to said they had caught the best waves of their life in Pavones (or one of the many surrounding beaches).
